I don’t know why this was flagged, I am simply asking how you stop the wind effecting the trunk of the tree when you export it for games? there doesn’t seem to be an option besides the vfx option for wind.
Hi @jimsons,
(I’m not sure why your original post was flagged, but I can let the Discussions team know so they can see if it’s a recurring issue.)
To ensure that the wind will not affect the trunk, you’ll want to set Shared/Global motion to 0. If you’re using the Legacy wind algorithm, set all the properties under Global Motion to 0. If you’re using the Games wind algorithm, disable Games Shared Motion.
If I’m misunderstanding your question, let me know. Screenshots of your export dialog and wind settings would be helpful!
Thank you for that, I must have tried this but found it hard to tell if it had turned off, so thank you that solved it.
I do have another question, but as i’m a new user i cannot upload attachments apparently.
Basically I am trying to export a tree with wind to UE5. ST9 uses the game wind type, but the ST with legacy option has far more detail in the wind animation, I would have sent the video if i could. why is an legacy version more detailed and how do i get that animation to import instead. ST9 comes across fine, but like i say the animation is not great. ST however looks really good but no animation imports when i try it.
