Windows 8 game using Unity Logo in App Store

I’m not sure if this was intentional or not but in the Windows 8 App store this game uses the Unity Cube Logo for it’s game.

Was it developed in Unity and if so how did they release it to the App Store? Are some developers getting the ability to publish to Windows App earlier than others? Unify?

If you look at the developers website, their definitely well funded . They could of even brought a Unity source license and made the exporter by hand …

For that type game I doubt they bought a Unity source license. On the thumbstar.com site, it looks like they’ve put together a bunch of platformers using what they assume is Community Commons art work.

If you do a whois on the domain thumbstar.com it shows the domain as being up for sale.

Even with a license I don’t think you can use the Unity icon as your Apps icon as even with Unity free you can change the icon. Kind of odd really.

It makes sense, how else would they test their Windows 8 plugin if not to have developers make games with it? Anyway, I’m sure they started a beta with exclusive developers right after they announced they were supporting it. The icon though, that is sloppy.

Hmm, seems they have fixed it now.

So a Unity game for sure?
