Windows on buildings.

In the process of taking some soon to be constructed buildings Exteriors only and module them but my one issues is that I can’t build the insides so I was thinking the best trick would be to make the windows reflect its surrounding like the trees, buildings, skybox, and road.

We’re is the best references to pull this off at?
Can anyone give me some sound advice it to the do’s and don’ts from their experiences from web, stand alone, and Iphone.

Thanks.

It would be the cheapest and probably best done with a cubemap.

But if you really need a true reflection, then this is how you would do it:

Thanks.

may be a year late is a bit late but…

I used to create an alpha map for the windows that let a second pass be visible wich had a cuve map. Just control the opacity of the alpha so that they dont look to reflective and will look nice.

I got this with this method time ago, using ogre. Wich did allow me to create “complex” materials graphically.

you casn see the effect of more or less alpha in teh video.
