We are an independent developer and I would like to show you our first Unity game: Wings of Rage.
It’s a 3D Shooter game where you control a plane facing tons of enemy forces! A modern arcade inspired by classic action games. (Well, you know what classic game I’m talking about)
I hope you like it and I’d love to hear your comments.
Also, as this is our first game, I would appreciate any advice regarding how to publish and give it exposure. We are contacting the major portals and will offer a downloadable as well as a web player version.
Nice! It reminded me a little of Top Gun for Nintendo, but with greater control of the plane…what classic is it based on?
I know it’s WW2ish tech, but since it’s arcadey maybe a HUD element to show where enemy planes are (when they’re out of your field of view) would be helpful. I think most flight sims use arrows on the side of the screen.
Just played it. As a beginner i am always amazed of the power of this engine…
Can you give some more info about your team (how many people), how long did you work on it,…
It looks realy nice and the gameplay is fun. The only thing i feel is that you lack some speed. Perhaps the gameplay could be faster.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I’m glad you like it!
Alvarus: you’re probably right, sometimes you can get lost and a HUD would be a good addition. The game it’s (very loosely) based on is Wings of Fury, a great 2D classic.
Oxygen: I’m surprised you couldn’t download! The game is only 3 Mb total, and after the first Mb you start playing. What connection do you have?
Passero: The game has been developed by a four people team, and it has taken about a month and a half, I believe we will have the final version in another month.
Hi Bud I have broadband pretty fast connection using firefox got plenty of memory…but it was painful my end but others might not have had the experience
Regarding prime time… We have contacted the major portals but haven’t got positive answers yet. All advice about how to market the game will be very welcome.
Before posting this live, you should make the keys modifiable.
Z as a choice for “fire” means that many european key-layouts will have trouble. On a german keyboard, for example, Y and Z are exchanged, so I need a second hand just for the fire button.
I would remove the speed-indication cause it hasn’t so much sense I think, my friend was asking right away “What’s that “speed”? Is there a turbo boost somewhere?”
And you may optimise the performance at last level!
I try many indiegames here and there and I’m quite a bit shocked how many seem to be no fun to me. So, congratulations, a fussy game-gourmet likes your game 8)
Was fun! Only complaint is with the keys to fire missile/bullets. Why don’t you put all the controls on the mouse (movement, left mouse to fire bullets, right mouse to fire missiles)
I’d sort of like a slightly more realistic flight model where you pull up while tilted to turn rather than just automagic turning. Maybe as an option? I like the speed mechanism. I like the big bullets and the fun over realism balance.
Good stuff.
A little advice:
I’m not trying to be mean but help out when I say that your rainbow logo is very, very ugly, amateurish, and says nothing good about the company to boot. Get an artist to take a swing at it, even if you have to pay a little.
