[WIP]Codename Purge- Neon-Nightmare Twin Stick Shooter

Hey all, let me know what you think as a first impression. We constantly update our dev blog and have a forum over at www.festivelightsgames.com We also have a playable demo here (Our demo is a proof of concept for the game demonstrating the bullet types and game handling rather than a full game with an end goal)

Purge
An experiment in
“Why am I so bad at this”

Darkness of the maze:
Your ship is self-illuminated, the light from your ship won’t help you.

With a checkpoint system and a unique level transition system, visuals and gameplay wind together to make an experience that will keep you playing for hours.

Scrapping your ship is no big deal. The only enemy you have is yourself. It’s just you and the maze. If you scrap it, just do it better next time, you have only yourself to blame.

With a map editor that allows you to create and share your maps with friends and online, an arena mode, controller support for up to four players, couch multiplayer modes that include battle royale versus, powerup versus, and racing modes, all included alongside the singleplayer puzzle mode, there’s no end to the replayability.

I’ll be updating the forum post here with any progress i make, althought it might be a bit slow due to other projects, i’ll keep things up to date here

I tried your demo for a few minutes but I couldn’t figure out what I was supposed to do. Other than that it’s certainly a pretty game.

Aha, yeah, it’s more of a proof of concept than anything. I’ll add that into the description

We’ve added a bunch more and are mapping out a story for the game

Also; we’ve decided on a name for the game, which will be announced publicly soon.

New additions are;

Map editor changes to better streamline wall placement so you the user don’t have to fiddle with a large amount of wall sections anymore!

Destructible walls are also added, which destroy when hit with the appropriate bullet colour enough times

Music tracks are well on their way, and they’re bopping! (I’m excited)

Graphics update and slight overhaul in and also underway

We now have a sweet dr.who-esque portal animation for zipping between levels (this looks really sweet)

We’ve done a lot more behind the scenes to make the game run smoother, including further pooling of objects and batching. While there’s no demo of the new content, we’ll be making a build sometime in the near future to allow players to test the game before we go full release sometime in the coming months.

If you’re excited and want to keep up on the newest updates, head over to www.festivelightsgames.com where we immediately post all of our progress in Developer Blog format!

We’re also community based, so we want to hear what you have to say about the game! What are you excited about, what do you think will need improvement, what do you want included that we haven’t covered? Criticism and feedback is appreciated

Thanks to all the developers in the Unity3d community, any and all support is always welcome.
