[WIP] Life of G-0-D (Open World Sandbox)

Hello Unity community,

I would like to introduce to you Life of G-0-D, an open world sandbox game maker. In LoG, you have two options: Story Mode or Creative Mode.

Story Mode is a third person shooter game I have made (still in production) using LoG. The story mode takes place on the planet of Mooshrum, a place inhabited with anthropomorphic mushrooms. Recently, Mooshrum is in a civil war between the tyrannical Kingdom and the rebels who want freedom. You (the player) fight for the rebels and take down the Kingdom once and for all. Here’s a picture of the player model in Story Mode:

Now moving on to my favorite part to work on- Creative Mode! In this mode, the users will be given a basic terrain (with mountains) and they can drag drop buildings anywhere they want, change the skybox, change their characters, add NPC’s, create their own quests using the NPC’s, edit the terrain, add enemies, save and then play their game.

Here’s a picture of the main menu:

I’ll be posting more updates soon so stick around. If you have any comments or questions please reply below.

Sounds pretty cool! Id like to see more and know a bit more about the game

Thanks! I plan to add a video really soon to show off gameplay.

Not really sure why you’d make a game maker application with software thats used for making games… Lol but looking good still :).

Although a much easier approach would be to make the game and scripts and whatnot then have the game customizable through editor with attached instructions and release it :stuck_out_tongue:

I want to give people the chance of running their own world and sharing it with others. Think Project Spark but a little more advanced.

Ah ic ic, Pretty neat. Is this going to be single player or multiplayer?

I have actually been think about this a lot. Right now the goal is to just finish the game (singleplayer) and publish it. Assuming people like it, then maybe I’ll begin making plans to turn it multiplayer, which (if I do) I think it will just be 1-10 players playing in a world the host has made (like Minecraft).

Ah, well decisions like that you need to make right away :P.

I ended up re-coding my game from scratch because multi-player requires a lot more planning ahead (Took a couple months to rewrite most of the code plus build the client to server communication. But I’d assume if ya did that you’d go Peer 2 peer, and if ya just slap in networking onto a single player game thats already created you’ll be looking at a world of hurt with the game easily being hacked :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait, so this trippy mushroom a god? :hushed:

I wouldn’t say a god :). He’ s just a playable mushroom you can use in Creative Mode. I plan to have at least 5 playable characters by the time the game is out. Right now I have two but hopefully it will change soon.

I see what you mean. It’s just I don’t know much of networking, so for right now I’m sticking to singleplayer

I will be posting a video of a sample game I have made from Life of G-0-D soon. Along with the video I will announce cool new features to come with LoG. Stay Tuned!
