The gameplay is hectic, unforgiving and death is just a heart beat away, contrary to the latest MMO trend of long -drawn battles. In Lil’ Arena a couple of attacks are more than enough to kill your opponent - the question is, can you set them up? That’s where the other aspects of gameplay come right in: Mobility, Control and Protection spells are all tools in your arsenal.
The key motivation behind Lil’ Arena’s development is to re-introduce fast-paced PvP. I’m not looking to make another farm-play-farm game where lots of your time goes towards getting that next gear piece. Instead, the difference between an amateur and a veteran is just a combination of timing, precision, awareness and fast reflexes.
You can follow the game’s progress in [GameJolt] and [Facebook]. Here’s the latest gameplay footage:
Lil’ Arena is now - and always will be - completely legal. I got rid of my last commercially non-available icon placeholders (couple of things from DotA, WoW, LoL, etc…) and replaced them with modified versions of commercially licensed assets (which turned out to be more fitting to the game’s theme as well :)).
These are still placeholders until I team up with a graphic designer that will handle the entire UI redesign - but before I do that I prefer for all the abilities to be in the game - and there’s two more sets of them coming along.
