(WIP) Personal aRPG, no name yet.

Hi, sequelator here and I want to show you guys what I’ve been up to, messing around with Unity.

I was pretty bored playing all the games out there, as I feel there are just too many casual ones and a bunch of WoW/DotA copies, and not that many options for some real time consuming hardcore games as right now I am only playing “Path of Exile”.
I have so many ideas that I think it would be awesome in games, so what I did was create a collaborative project here in Unity Forums, which I did this year in june/july. But I was kinda naive, and ended up learning that collaboration is great and all, but is not really viable right now. No surprise that the project was a total failure and because I don’t have the money to pay people to make my ideas come to life I had to change a little bit.

What I am doing now is creating pieces of work, some cool small things alone to get more experience and learn more about game design, coding, etc, so maybe I can start a “kickstarter” project later or apply to a job in a nice game company.
So, in the past 2 months I studied much more about programming and I wrote a small game environment so I could test a bunch of ideas. The first one that I did is an ability system that is solid enough for me to start showing. I’ll try to make a couple of videos per week and keep this thread updated. I would LOVE some feedback, about the design, or coding, about my english, anything.

If you are a programmer, designer, etc and want to hang out as a learning experience as well, it would be great, just send me a message.

Best of wishes to you, I’m oddly enough solo developing an aRPG (with some unique twists) myself for those same reasons, to create something much more in-depth and meaningful.

Thanks. I know, I commented on your youtube video a few days ago

I’m very curious on how the combining and adjusting of the skills turn out later on in the game. Good luck!

In this video I explain more in-depth how abilities are handled in the game.
I had a few issues with xSplit and After Effects, so there are some strange cuts in the video. But overall, I think this video was pretty boring to watch, so I am gonna focus on releasing a demo as soon as possible, so people can really try it out instead of watching it.
I’ll still make videos, but I’ll try to keep 'em more brief and more enjoyable to watch.
