It is a story about a ruthless war that destroyed the planet and had put an end to human civilisation.
Many years after the war, one of the last human on earth wakes up.
Her name is Rin, she is a battle mech pilot, and she was frozen in an underground facility until this day.
With her new friend Lem, who is trapped in a mechanic body since long gone war, and her ancient but still deadly battle mech “Raven”.
Time has come for her to explore a new world, with all dangers and adventures. There are going to be furry foxies, cybernetic sharks, elephant sized destroyer mechs and many many other 110 % cool things !
This actually looks cool. Although the graphics are certainly very good the video makes it “feel” like there has been just as much and probably more focus on actually making a game something fun to play! And that’s a great thing. Sometimes I think people forget we aren’t making movies to watch we’re making games to be played. Looking forward to trying this one.
Unity just keep crashing when i try to build lightmaps, read something about open meshes, but fixing everything now ? Ooh come on. Is there anything i can do with it ? Thats quite sad when basic things in the engine does not work.
Thankfully it’s better looking than anything in PS1 era. I can’t remember anything looking this good, maybe bandicoot or sly?
Soul Reaver was a blocky mess compared to this. LOL. That first gen 3D era will probably be an era we skip with regards to retro remakes.
Hey zag - the idle animations are very subtle almost too subtle I think - may want to enhance them a little. She looks nearly motionless when viewed from the back.
Great work - keep on it - after you’ve resolved the lightmap crash.
Thanks guys ! My biggest memories are exactly from that gaming years. There is something very special for me in the simple hand painted textures, maybe it brings out something from childhood =)
Hand painted games has their own identity and style, they are more warm and allow designers to go to any artistic direction compared to realistic textures where people must follow real life patterns and details.
You have great hand painting skills
it looks like you are making a nice and unique game with a nice and unique style.
I can not remember how many years past since i saw a hand painted looking game.
Thanks, man. I`ve seen a lot, but they never was popular, unfortunately. Wich only can mean bad news )
So i tryed out new places with mech. Previous was quite confusing, one guy even asked if its gonna be an exploration game.
Well, this game is about killing things =)
Look at 0:30, the crosshaire is in front of the character, i think this is a camera problem, instead of pushing it above the player near it, or in front of it , the camera stays behind the character when it turns the torso.
I played many TPS, and the crosshaire don’t display behind the character model.
First i thought you are talking about occluding the crosshair, but the problem is in the character that gets in the way ) Right now it just checks any colliders behind and place itself on the contact points. I hope I`ll figure something out )
You can simply add some child empty object in front of the weapon canon , and start a raycast from here, then display the crosshair when something is hit, or display no crosshair when nothing is hit.
well, the first version was exactly like that, i even moved it to hit position to see exactly where bullets will go, but the whole thing came out too flickery - it was really annoying when crosshair moved and dissapeared 3 times per second )
