In the last couple of years we’ve seen a lot of racing games being released. The Forza Motorsport & Horizon franchises, Gran Turismo, Project Cars, Need for Speed, Assetto Corsa and many more. But the main focus is usually realism or over the top arcade. The true arcade racer has disappeared throughout the years. It’s time to bring the arcade racer back to it’s former glory and Retro Drive will try and do just that.
For the last couple of months I’ve been hard at work establishing a unique visual artstyle reminiscent of the old arcade games while implementing modern graphical features.
Retro Drive will be set in the late 80’s and you’ll be driving different cars, from your standard sedans to exotic sports cars from that era. And you’ll be driving in different parts of the world like the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States and many more. Gamemodes will include timetrials, tournaments, single races and police chases. The unique thing about the police chases is that each country will have it’s own police cars.
In the coming weeks I’ll be posting more images, video’s and details of Retro Drive. To stay in touch with the latest news you can also like and follow the Retro Drive Facebookpage. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post a comment.
