Description-Short:
Space Warped is an online game that is similar to counter-strike or any capture of the flag game… only the big difference from the enumerated game play types is that there will be no flags there will be beacons and the person who is shooting is in a advance spaceship.
Description-Long:
Space Warped is an action-packed multiplayer game that will be available on on PC, MAC and XBOX/PS platforms. The game main action is happening in the TRAPIST-1 solar system where you get the chance to battle in a epic spaceship. You will be able to explore the solar system on a scale of 1:10 but as i said the game will be PVP orientated so you will have to participate in battles to be able to upgrade your ship.
What is TRAPPIST-1?
TRAPPIST-1, also designated as 2MASS J23062928-0502285, is an ultra-cool dwarf star that is slightly larger but much more massive than the planet Jupiter, located 39.5 ly (12.1 pc) from the Sun in the constellation Aquarius. The dwarf star has been shown to host seven temperate terrestrial planets, a larger number than detected in any other planetary system.
Astronomers first discovered three Earth-sized planets orbiting the dwarf star in 2015. A team led by Michaël Gillon (fr) at the University of Liège in Belgium detected the planets using transit photometry with the Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope (TRAPPIST) at the La Silla Observatory in Chile. On 22 February 2017, astronomers announced four additional exoplanets around TRAPPIST-1. This work used the NASA Spitzer Space Telescope and the Very Large Telescope at Paranal, among others, and brought the total number of planets to seven, of which three are considered to be within its habitable zone. The others could also be habitable as they may possess liquid water somewhere on their surface.
Inspiration:
The game is inspired by Battleship (2012) movie.
NASA 2017’s discoveries.
I’m a little confused about what type of game this is.
You said it’s like Counter-Strike and Capture the Flag but with no flags and in spaceships. Also it’s inspired by the movie battleship, but in what way? From what I remember Battleship was about humans fighting alien spaceships with an old ww2 battleship, I can’t see the similarity.
I guess I have a few questions:
Is it a first person shooter?
Do you fly the ship?
Does the ship shoot, or do you shoot from the ship?
Does everyone get their own ship, or are there teams on the ship?
Just needing some clarity before I can provide some useful feedback!
The game looks sweet! I like the graphics and the UI. The video trailer also looked pretty professional and the voice acting and music was amazing. The game looks pretty professional! That being said, I agree with @Serinx . I am pretty confused on what the game is about. Though the trailer was professional, it lacked detail on on what the gameplay is like (perhaps show images of some gameplay instead of the images of the planets though the planets’ graphical quality looks great)! The questions that I have to ask about the game are pretty much the same questions Serinx asked. Also, it would help to release your game in an early access state with limited or unlimited testers so people can actually feel the gameplay and give you good advice. Even I can’t give much feedback on how to improve the game because I couldn’t feel the gameplay. For example, in my current WIP, Pipe Dodge(Pipe Dodge Early Access - Community Showcases - Unity Discussions), I released an early access version of the game. The result was I got great useful feedback from Serinx that helped me big time in improving gameplay quality. I also got to show people what my game was about. It was much wiser giving an early access version of my game rather than just only posting screenshots. Keep up the good work!
Hey ** @Serinx ** and ** @greatness **, Thank you very much for your input and sorry to cause you confusion
You know that almost all games like counter-strike has a boring lobby you never get to see your character before the fight.
So I decided to do something unique where you can actually interact with the involvement, basically what I am saying is that what you see in the pictures is the lobby where you make upgrades to ships, buy/sell ships/weapons and find matches/arenas.
Here is another set of screenshots with some of the ships:
You will be basically in one of the above spaceships cockpit and fight with others in a real-time multiplayer battles.
Thank you again for your feedback!
PS from all forums that I posted only on this one I got feedback, it feels real sad that once you finish the game is very hard to advertise it and get players to know it.
Wait, so is the game like a first person shooter that has space ships as vechiles? (Kind of like Battlefield games. Battlefield games have players play in first person shooter but they can go in vechiles such as choppers and tanks). I originally was confused that it might have been a space ship only game or a first person shooter only game. I get that its online multiplayer though. Finally, Ikr about the marketing stuff, I only got one person to give me feedback on my current early access game, Pipe Dodge (https://forum.unity3d.com/threads/pipe-dodge-early-access.487821/). It sucks but well… I am a non professional game dev so I don’t spend money or that much energy on marketing. Oh, if you want good tips on free marketing, here you go: http://www.gameanalytics.com/blog/marketing-indie-game-without-budget.html
Trust me, this article is full of good stuff for indies.
P.S. You spelled position wrong in the screen shots.
I watched the video and for the most part it seems very professional. Audio is excellent.
I’m not so keen seeing the depth of the 3d text and the 3d text is a little bland.
Check this one out as an example Disputed Space - FPS Action Game - Community Showcases - Unity Discussions
Also “A game inspired by Battleship the movie”, “But in space”. Do we really need that last bit. Comes across a little cheesy.
As a cinematic trailer though its very good. I’d probably drop the in game images at 1:37 as they don’t seem to fit the rest of the video.
As for the screen shots its really difficult to see anything as they are so dark.
Again, check out the link above which is also a spaced based game (although no interiors) to see how well its lit.
I think the general feeling is what kind of game is it. Perhaps seeing a gameplay video would help.
Testing Network Prediction Under 250 LATACY
The video is kinda laggy because bandicam operates at 30 FPS and the game runs at 60 but you can clearly see that network Prediction + interpolation + Reconciliation Looks good!
Hello again, I just want to to let you know that I am not trying to make a game clone in any way… but I am so obsessed with this games that unintentionally i made the game play seams like your playing freelancer or starlancer on multiplayer… and i mean the combat system and the feeling.
