hello this is the progress of my personal project “Viking Castle”
Hi Raul,
Looks good. Is this a game or an art asset?
If it’s a game, remember to focus in on your goal, and to write it out, make a list, breaking down the high level steps to completion, into small chunks to work on.
Finish the list, and the game, and release! Don’t be afraid to release a smaller sized game, with a focused scope. It will be of a higher quality, and you can build more on it, later.
Good luck and keep the details coming!
P.S. Can the Viking hold a torch? Might be a cool effect, while walking around the darker areas of the castle.
this is a game, a 4 levels game, just want to learn Unity again and my goal is to add lots of cool features to a mini-game ,
the torch is cool idea i will add it, also an axe or big hammer
Keep going on it, you’re making very nice looking aesthetics with it. I am curious about the volumetric light volumes you have (god rays, etc). Is that an alpha transparent texture on geometry or some other technique?
Thanks James,
i think is a light shader or a script assigned to a spotlight, i´m not a tech guy, that script is not done by me,
I dont know if i can share the link to that light effect but is available for free online
Is that a camera affect or are you recording your monitor with your phone?
Consider getting a screen recorder, I got bandicam for like $30 and haven’t regretted doing so.
Thanks for the info, i will do a screen record next time, so yes i captured with mobile with no filters
I’ve found the free Nvidia GeForce Experience does a really nice 60fps recording of my games. Another option there.
Since the new update to geforce experience its been a total pain getting videos to record and with bandicam I can select the record size and all that jazz. It’s pretty lightweight too
Hmm yeah I’ve been using it fine the last few weeks. Really nice 60fps recordings with hardware audio too. Maybe you have a driver conflict or you went to a version of the software that’s too new?
I had to restore my pc and couldnt find the older version of geforce experience I used. The one I got was very complicated and a pain in the ass to setup and use so in a fit of rage I said FU to nvidia and bought bandicam. Haven’t looked back. I don’t have a need for geforce screen recording anymore with bandicam.
Cool man if it meets your needs then use it!
PS - I used Camtasia Studio for years.
Progress, Now I can work a bit more on this game
I can record video using nvidia experience but that will be when the game has more action
