It seems like since the last update, the list of workspaces in the VC client no longer shows the branches for the entries, it’s got the workspace names and disk locations but that’s all.
I work with a lot of workspaces in different branches.
I now seem have to click on each one in order to see its branch which frankly is a massive PIA.
I can’t imagine how anyone could think that the new view is better than the old detailed list.
Am I missing something? Is there some setting I can change to bring back a useful list?
Hi @Bonfire-Boy ,
Can you please attach the screenshot where you see it? I was able to see “location,” which represents the branch with the latest version(11.0.16.8673) of the standalone application.
Thanks for the reply (and, incidentally, is there a way to get emailed when there’s a reply? I thought that the fact that I was watching the thread would make this happen but I didn’t receive anything).
Here you are.
Yes, the Location is there in the details for the workspace that I have selected.
But it should be on the individual tiles for the workspaces so I don’t need to go through clicking on each of them to find the workspace I want. Like I said, previously there was a list with details visible for all the workspaces at the same time.
This feels like one of those UI “improvements” that’s been made for aesthetic reasons at the expense of practicality. But surely you know that programmers prefer detailed lists? I typically have more than 10 workspaces for the same project, and this is a real PIA.
