I got a rather interresting question to ask/discuss.
compared to a socket server, how well would a setup of the WWW class, PHP and MySQL do
for a mmorpg?
my approach for handling server side events like npc movement or similar would be to use
a “god” client that basically works as the server’s client.
(I’m also aware I could be using MySQL directly from within unity, but I wouldn’t want to compile the connection info for my database into the client executable)
any insights on this subject would be appreciated
