I just became a Microsoft partner to develop for Xbox One. Could someone point me to where is the better place to get help and info about developing for Xbox One with Unity3d? I have looked in the Xbox One forum and there is not a special section for Unity3d development in that forum, like the one on the PS4 Devnet forums.
So bottom line is: Where is the help for developing games with Unity3d for Xbox One? I would appreciate any help please.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get into the site in the link that Graham Dunnett gave me. Apparently there is another step that needs to be completed in order to gain access to that link.
The team at XBOX ONE told me that they were sending an email to Unity3d team in order to facilitate me access, but I haven’t received anything from the Unity3d guys yet. So I don’t know exactly what the process is.
Please be patient, you should get access automatically once the request is processed, it probably won’t be until early next week. Meanwhile I left a note on Unity’s support chat.
@hippocoder Totally understand about the weekend. I didn’t even know I had to request access, there aren’t any docs (that I’ve seen at least) that call that out. That’s the only reason for frustration, that this is all a bit “in the dark” rather than nicely documented and guided. Just a friendly piece of feedback really to help smooth out the process for the next round of devs that bang up against it.
Speaking of which where / from whom do I request access, my Xbox@ID contact?
BTW, thanks for leaving the note on support chat, cool of you.
@strongbox3d FYI… I reached out to my Xbox contact and they put the process in motion. Worth reaching out to whoever your contact is, if you haven’t already.
We’ve also found this process a bit vague - there wasn’t any useful docs and our Unity sales rep couldn’t immediately clarify the process, but between some emails to him and Microsoft we cleared it up and now we’re just waiting for Unity to respond so we can do something useful with the devkits. We also had problems provisioning the devkits, so it was actually IDSetup at Microsoft that sorted things out for us.
