Xcode 12.5 in UCB time estimations

Hello,
I’d like to ask about the current state of adding Xcode 12.5 to Unity Cloud Build. As far as I’m concerned it was planned to be released at the end of September 2021 and we need to take actions regarding this issue since some features we have on our roadmap have been paused.
Do you think it will be ready soon? Did you encounter any problem which could delay the planned release date? If so, how much extra time do you think it’s going to take?

Thanks for your time,
Rodrigo Ribeiro-Pinto

Hi from me as well,

yes, it’s now 30th of September and no news released by Unity about the progress… It’s pretty vital piece of information and a pretty vital update to the UCB to get the xcode 12.5+13 supports (yes, 13 is officially released, since the 20th of September). No pressure, but please, at least drop some notes what’s happening.

Thanks,
Sami

I logged a support request and got this as the response:

"My apologies for the Xcode 12.5 delay. As soon as we have a firm release date for 12.5, we will be announcing it on the Unity forums, but I would like to let you know that we aim to have 12.5 released in the mid to the end of October. Please note that this is not an official release date and could change. "

Hope this helps with planning.

Thanks for the message @DurbsDev we’ll be waiting for the official response

The app we’re currently developing needs Xcode 12.5 due to some newer modules, so we kind of have the deployment stopped until that, but well, at least they’re still working hard on it

One thing that you can do, until Unity3D finishes the upgrade, is to make a local build, for example on iOS, just Archive->Export the .ipa file with the same certificates that you use for the cloud. Then you can upload your build on the UnityCloud and share that to people.

Reply I got from support:

"Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m Valery from the Cloud Services Support team.

I believe you’re running into this issue because Unity Cloud Build doesn’t support Xcode 12.5 and 13 yet.

Please let me apologise for the delay in making Xcode 12.5 and 13 available. Apple has changed things up significantly this time around, and Xcode 12.5 requires us to upgrade our builder machines to Big Sur.

To answer your question - we hope to have Xcode 12.5 supported this or next week, and Xcode 13 will probably take about a month after that, so likely November.

Please let me know if you’d like me to keep this ticket open and update you when the new versions are available. Again, I’m very sorry for the delay and for all the problems this is causing."

anything?

Hi folks, we just updated the thread (thanks @paradizIsCool for pointing). We’re moving along nicely in our tests so optimistic we can get it out to you in next week or two. It should be both 12.5.1 and 13.0 released, so you won’t have to wait another month for 13.0.

Stealthily available now and seems to work, thanks!

Yes, finally i can update lib

Hi everyone! Just [updated the thread](http://Forum post announcing new Xcode live: Update on Xcode 12.5 and 13.0 Timing ) to indicate that yes, Xcode 12.5.1 and 13.0 are live!

Thanks again for your patience and let us know if you have any issues with your builds via support ticket.

We know we were delayed in this, so are planning on sharing on the forums some of the steps we’re taking to prevent this from happening again next year.
