Hopefully, somone can help with this issue. So, I just upgraded my phone to the latest iPhone OS 3.0 (7A341). Following this, I tried to build code to the phone and got the following error:
I then went into the Organizer on xcode and it shows that my phone is running 3.0 (7A341), but my xcode sdk only supports up to 3.0 (7A312g) (or something like that). It gives me a link to download the latest SDK, which if you follow it just sends me to the dev center.
So I followed the link, went to the dev center and downloaded the latest sdk 3.0 for leopord. Installed it, and still get the error. Same problem in the organizer. It’s like the latest SDK just doesn’t support the 3.0 (7A341) build.
I have two devices (iphone 3G, and 2nd Gen iPod touch), and both have been upgraded to the 3.0 (7A341) build, and I can’t build on either now.
Additional troubleshooting:
I also completely uninstalled the developer stuff, along with deleting the developer folder, then rebooted, downloaded the latest sdk again, installed sdk, but still have the same problem. Why would apple release a OS that isn’t supported by the latest sdk?
Please help, I can’t work without being able to build on my devices.
Something similar happened to me when going from the 2.2.1 SDk to 3.0. I ended up just creating new certificates and a new provisioning profile and it all started working again. Don’t remember this particular error though.
Once i installed 3.0, i was getting error all over the place. I reprovisioned and issued new certs and all is good. The detail’s are on the Certificate as well it used to state “iPhone Developer: My Name”, now it states “iPhone Developer: My Name (SomeNumber)”
But before 3.0 i didn’t have to do anything. Maybe it has to do with the push that you can now use?
Seriously… I’m pulling my hair out on this. I’ve restored both my devices about fifty times. I reprovisioned them several times each too… nothing seems to fix this. When I go into the Organizer in xcode in the bottom right window where it typically would show which provisioning profile is on that device it shows the following error:
I can’t build on either of my devices… I’ve already lost 4 days of work because of this. This error tells me to go and download the new sdk which I’ve done several times too… still not working!
I then deleted the Developer folder and rebooted. I then redownloaded the sdk from apple and installed. Is there anything else I could do, did I miss something?
I normally don’t even need the reinstall part, just the install.
As I’ve not done dual install and whatever during the 3.0 beta, I didn’t have any problems or anomalies actually
OK, i’ve got this half solved now. After uninstalling the devtools and the sdk as I listed above and then reinstalling the sdk, it seems that the old sdk is not completely being uninstalled somehow. My first clue, was that the xcode icon was still in my start bar. So I deleted everything again (the same way i listed before) and then deleted the xcode icon in my start bar, then deleted the /Developer folder, then rebooted.
So after all of that, if I do a search for xcode in spotlight it doesn’t find any applications, but if I open an .xcodeproj file it opens it using the old version of xcode.
Before I deleted everything again, I went into the /Developer folder and found the xcode app and ran it from there and it was fine, it recognized my devices fine. But when I run an .xcodeproj file by doubleclicking it, even after I deleted everything again, it opens xcode (the old version that doesn’t work with my devices).
But Where is this xcode app coming from??? spotlight doesn’t find an xcode app. so where is this coming from. I even emptied the trash can just in case it was running from there. But it isn’t… Any thoughts on where it could be getting this old app version from? How can I get rid of this?
