Yep! As far as I know it is not possible to simulate AR apps in the iOS Simulator. StackOverflow also seems to agree ios - Is it possible to run ARKit in simulator? - Stack Overflow
To be honest, I haven’t tried it, but if you see a black screen, that’s probably your answer. You’re best off simulating in the Editor! If you’re looking to simulate screen size and orientation, check out the Device Simulator package! Redirect to... title of new-page
Unfortunately, you still have to switch back to game view to drive the phone around with mouse and keyboard, but we’re working on a fix for that
