After a few months of blood, sweat and tears, I am proud to announce that Xenocade has been submitted to the iTunes store. Xenocade consists of bowling and skee ball set in sci-fi influenced environments. This is our first mobile game so please let us know what you think!

Looks awesome!

A couple of quick questions.

  1. How are you doing the reflection?

  2. Are the shadows baked in from your 3D program? Lightmaps? Hand-painted?

Again, looks awesome. If you can get any exposure, it should do well in the store.

1.) For the reflections we are using a modified version of the MirrorReflection shader which you can find here.

Our modifications mainly handle a custom fallback shader and also take vertex color into account, which leads to number 2.

2.) The shadows are baked in from our 3D program (maya), the only non baked “shadow” we use is a blob shadow in Ultra Ramp.

Thanks, our 2D artist was heavily inspired by Tron and Mass Effect.

I am very excited to announce that Xenocade has just been approved by Apple so keep an eye out for it as it should be showing up by next week latest!!!
