Note: Jump/fly by clicking mouse button, but only hold the button down for a second or two, else you’ll jump too high (I haven’t put in a max jump yet). This isn’t really much of a game yet… it’s more a prototype. I like the looks and feel of it, but I am still working on the actual game part of it. I am finding that the hardest part of making games it not the coding or art, its the idea.

*** UPDATED 9/12/06 … I removed the demo and will replace it with the newest version very soon ****

It looks good and runs well on my new iMac, but what 's the objective of the game? I’m guessing you build points by letting the ball(s) hit the colored clovers (since that causes more balls to be created), right? Pretty clever, a scoring display would be nice.

Thanks. Yeah, good question… whats the objective? I’m having a very hard time deciding which way to go with this game; casual puzzle type or arcade skill type. But I am glad to hear that it runs well on you mac and that you think it looks good!

looks neat. I could see this becoming a game of some sort. Its up to you to figure out what it will be though.

Looks great, and original. And I’d say playing around is as good a way as any to solidify a game concept.

Once I got all the green balls to stack up perfectly vertically on top of the red one, and then they all collapsed inside the red one and were gone, and a colored cloud came out and hid the red ball. Not sure if that’s intentional but it was interesting

Yoggy and Morgon, thanks for the positive comments!

-) Runs awfully slow on my mini and it has z-issues which means leaves are plopping in front and back while i’m moving.

+) I dunno what i’m supposed to do but i like the organic feeling and the grass.

I was afraid it would run slow on G4’s, I don’t have a G4 to test with. Wish I did. The z-issues, right I see that now too, thanks.

Glad you liked the ‘organic’ feel. That’s exactly what I’m going for.

The grass is really funny. It doesn’t look like grass at all but it looks so softly one would like to lay down on it. By the way the shadows are below the leaves.

Who was it who once said shadows aren’t important… ;O)

nice, 3D python =P
and apart from that, everything good that has been said

cool and funky and the other things said.

ran fine for me. 733 g4, 1gb ram, 256mb 9800. the speed itself felt a bit slow maybe but it wasn’t framerate. moving horizontally accelerated to a fast speed but falling was a wait - escpecially if you jump too high. but i like fast action. so that’s just me. didn’t notice z-issues.

Yeah the player (red circle thingy) is supposed to move slow, the falling is slow too… at least for now, I haven’t quite decided if the game will be slow moving or fast. So I am VERY GLAD to hear the framerates seem good on a g4 733. excellent!

maybe make the cam zoom in and out as the ball goes up and down

Runs very fluid on this 1.8 G5 PPC here. I like that one could push those leaves up when jumping while under them. This could become a very addictive game. The growing “chain” of spheres and those particle effects… nice! Well done!

I just removed the demo from my site. I have an updated version I will be putting up soon. Thanks for all your great comments and suggestions!
