Pretty random for a post, but if you’re into video games - I’m assuming that’s 99.9% of you - and you’re not already a fan of this site (many of you probably are), then you’ll definitely want to check it out.
Just checking the latest video (for Amnesia) reminded me that more often than not he does have some fairly nice insights into game design that could benefit the Unity crowd.
Rumor has it that the local user Yahtzee is actually Ben Croshaw, but AFAIK, it’s still unconfirmed. I’m pretty sure I helped him out with some scripting problems a month ago, and his writing style did indeed remind me of many Zero Punctuation scripts, but he’s stylized his character so much for that webzine that it would be hard to be certain of how he acts when not no camera… microphone… derp.
As for Yahtzee’s view on game design, it’s pretty scathing, and doesn’t realistically reflect the corporate gaming world, but for an indy project, his viewpoints often could be considered seriously. Except Nintendo. He’s pretty spot on about nintendo.
