I´ll sell this character when I finish all 4 animations ,Idle, walk, run, jump. And you get him as Prefab.
The price is 55 €. I think It´s a cheap price for a next gen main character.
If you are interested please contact me.
Yeah the face looks static because I don´t get him a facial rigg…sorry for that.
The Idea was that he would be used for a 3rd person main character. So you will see him mainly from the rear.
But I think he would be good as enemy too.
Ok, I change the lenght of his legs, you´re right!!!
Can you attach a picture in your post?? Normally I wouldn’t bother even looking if there is no picture in post to show what I am about to click. I am sure a lot of people thinks the same.
Nice modelling, allthough the character itself has a certain “Big baby” look with his enormous shoulders, odd proportioned body and the kind of dumb / naive facial expression.
you can’t compare GoW poly-count with WoW-polycount. GoW characters have 12k polies, while WoW has something along the 2k polies with armor and hair etc. no way near the 6k mark. i don’t think that “lies” like that should be spread in an indie game dev community
Polygons counts for some of the Half-Life 2 characters:
Soldiers: 4682
Police: 3852
Resistance: 4976
Zombie: 4290
Helicopter: 6415
Strider: 6444
Alyx: 8323
Original quote from the Blizzard contest:
WOW characters should not exceed 2000 polys. The hand-painted textures are also the key to getting the most out of your limited poly count.
Oh no, I certainly wouldn’t compare the two, but I also wouldn’t call WoW characters “AAA”. That being said, however, I also wouldn’t compare this character to GoW quality either. He looks good, and I like the animation, but his face and joints needs some serious work.
BUT! For the price, I’d say its well worth it. He’d work great for a stylized or cartoon-ish themed game.
well my answer was pointed at Divinity.
I like the model from Dave, it has some strange anatomy that should be tweaked, same for the animations, but it is a great start (even further than just a start tbh)
i wouldn’t call anything “AAA” because it has many polies dosn’t mean it is “AAA” or “AAA-quality”.
Hmmm, maybe research did fail me, but that doesn’t change anything, I would say 8 or so k is ok for the character, after all, people will be seeing him all the time, things like enemies and characters should be higher poly, as they are a higher priority, but of course props would be lower poly
Cartoon is the first thing I think of, the proportions are too far off to be anything else. The armor is nice, looks like its got all the proper mapping but everything put together makes him look really short mostly because of the stubby legs and crazy huge shoulders.
I think slimming the arms and hands, making the legs longer and fixing those cocaine eyes would help tremendously.
He looks like a tough guy neck down, but his facial expression is so silly, it feels like a mix between surprise and stupidity.
Hands are too big - pretty good though.
