Andrioid programing using Unity

Hello,
If i have a android account already with my publishing licence, what else do i need to start making android apps?

You need Unity Pro and one of the two Unity Android licenses.

Uh what? You dont need Unity Pro. Just buy the Unity Android License.

For the Android Pro license, you also need Unity Pro, and I thought I remembered someone somewhere saying that you needed Unity pro for Andorid Basic too (Because I remember wondering why they did that for android but you don’t need it for iOS Basic). I could be wrong on the latter, but the former I know for a fact is true.

The first thing in your answer was “Unity Pro”, which will be interpreted like “Unity Pro is a requirement before using any additional Android license”. But it is not. I just wanted to clear that up.

It IS required for Andorid Pro license. You cannot purchase Android Pro unless you have Unity Pro.

As for Android Basic, I could be wrong, but I THOUGHT that you also needed Unity Pro for it.

Pretty sure you can use basic with the free version of Unity. You get the Unity splash screen and can’t do some of the more advanced packaging and optimization which might limit you to smaller apps on the market.

The sales page states quite clearly. The first part of the order process is to pick Unity or Unity Pro. If you pick Unity the purchase option page updates to show Requires Unity Pro under Pro iOs and Android licenses but not on Basic versions.

Yea, I know you can with iOS Basic, but for some reason, I thought I remembered reading it was different for Android and wondered why… Maybe it was just a dream (or a nightmare, rather) though. :stuck_out_tongue:
