Nice. Marketing can save the day sometimes. It does make it interesting handling the branding and IP creation. With so much IP in one company doesn’t that make it even harder to make unique IP that is not a subset of some existing property?

The IP handling is interesting compared to tech or manufacturing where you have really need to crank out the patents so you have something to trade around with other large companies.

It’s not so much unique IP as extending the existing IP.

Turns out orange light sabres are used by a shadowy faction of the force who are dedicated to maintaining a balance between the light and dark sides.

Or as a more practical example, turns out the Tesserac was actually an infinity stone. And that Loki has been manipulating Hydra in order to overthrow Tony Stark.

The again, maybe Elsa is really Luke’s great granddaughter and together with the Hulk and the they plan to take on Magneto.

The possibilities with great IP are endless.

You mean the guy who sends a press release to 100+ game review sites, that you’ve mentioned in your game’s post mortem? That one’s a great tip man, I had no idea someone did that, I really want to try it. I know barely 4 or 5 game review sites and I’m not very sure how to best approach begging for some attention. Hopefully I’d get more views on my next trailer with the help of that

Yep! He does more than that though. He gave me a 3 page write up on things I can do to improve on everything, from videos, to write-ups. Of course i didnt do half of them because well im an egg… but it was all good.

You also end up with pages of contacts that you can get in touch with. Its great information if youre as clueless as most developers (myself included)
