I am going to be making a FPS on unity. New to it I watched all video tutorials checked the basics of the reference manual, I know a handful of java script from elder scrolls construction set. So I really got sad when I figured out that the FPS tutorial codes are not compatible with Unity 2.0 or higher, And I checked a forum post about it I couldnt find an answer of how I could get it to work on 2.5 So here are some questions I have.
If I have a character I modeled on blender how can I get to control him like you can control the First Player Controller preferable. I would love to know about that. And can I still even use any part of the FPS tutorial for learning purposes? or is it all worthless to look at? I would appreciate somone setting me in the right direction to make my FPS game. Sorry to rant on and such, but I do appreciate help if somone can offer it.

FPS Tutorial Update

The FPS tutorial has been updated for 2.x compatibility, go get it!

Look at the 3D Platform Tutorial as that offers an example of how to control an animated/rigged character. From there it’s up to you whether you put the camera in a first-person location or a third-person one.

The PDF file for the 3d platform tutorial is broken so I can download the 2 zips but not the first file out of the three here is a illustration
1.I CANT DOWNLOAD THIS FILE
2. I can download this zip
3. I can download this zip.

ok so its not an illustration but eeeeeeh you get my point?

I can download all three PDF files just fine. What’s your browser/OS combo?

I’ll try attaching them as a zip file here.

The 3D platform tutorial downloads for me just fine as well, although it’s a bit larger at 14+MB. Does this link work any better?
