C# pointers?

I’ve been writing my code in javascript but then I read that C# allows pointers (within an unsafe{} block). Is this true, and if so, are there any limitations besides placing it inside a scary (and silly) “unsafe{}” block? I desperately need pointers.

I’m not entirely convinced that you need pointers, but that is a good description of them. Coming from C++, I found C# to be a bit strange.

The following thread says that Unity’s version of C# doesn’t allow pointers under any circumstances :

So there seem to be some contradictions on the forum…

I’ve never tried them personally since Reference Types are quite useful for me in C#, but if somebody tried them and says they don’t work I would believe them as I am not personally invested enough to try it myself.
