Can I develop and test for IOS with Unity Remote on Windows?

I see in other forums that you need to build on a Mac before deploying to IOS. I have a Windows machine and an IPod. Can I use Unity Remote, along with the Unity IDE on my Windows machine, to develop and test a mobile app? I’m trying to learn how to use Unity for mobile game development which I ultimately would like to build to both IOS and Android. Essentially, can I develop and self teach myself, without utilizing a Mac until I’m ready to build for production?

I’ve never tried to use unity remote for iOS in windows by itself, but you can certainly test on iOS devices if you use VMWare and latest OS high sierra running inside windows as a virtual machine. I think most machines should be compatible as long as your CPU supports virtualization. It is worth noting that I’m not sure what kind of legal gray area that is to work like that.

Your best bet and probably easiest solution for iOS dev, is to get a Mac.
