Hi, everyone! I run the middleware company Pixel Crushers, best known for the Dialogue System for Unity, but sometimes I just want to make a game for myself. Crypt Crawler is such a game. An intern, his dad, and I designed it to be a fun solo and local co-op dungeon crawler + tower defense hybrid. It’s been a nice change of pace to make a game that’s just an enjoyable, polished game loop.
I’m prepping it for release on Steam so others can enjoy it, too. Here’s an interim trailer:
A demo of Crypt Crawler will be in Steam’s Tower Defense Fest at the end of July. I’ll also post updates here leading up to the event as well as the full release later this year.
Crypt Crawler is a lot of fun in single player mode, but there aren’t enough couch co-op games, so I’m making sure to give some love to multiplayer, too. I recently added a visible tether line that appears when players are too far apart:
You can play the free public demo of Crypt Crawler in Steam’s Tower Defense Fest through next Monday. Play the first five levels solo or with up to 4 friends in local co-op.
Crypt Crawler is 40% off in the Steam Winter Sale:
For under $5, it’s a great game to play some local co-op with friends & family over the holidays, or solo if you need some quiet time away from the crowds.
