Did you ever work drunken?

I rarely drink (only at some special meetings or parties). Never at work, but I get a bit speedy (aka on roids) when i drink caffeine. Sometimes makes me work faster. I say sometimes, cause when I get too much caffeine I just start to rush on everything and lost my focus/concentration.
I’ve never seen any of my abilities improved when I drink. I actually practice meditation, that’s how I improve my focus/concentration/creativity. :sunglasses:

sure why not…

I also become the worlds greatest dancer, a smooth talking criminal, and the toughest guy around, so why wouldn’t my coding get significantly better!?

I can’t work when I have been drinking. I have tried, but I get distracted way too easily.

Might I point everyone to the following: xkcd: Ballmer Peak

Alcohol is also a very good way working on stuff you really do not want to work on…
It strangely gives motivation where you’re bored to death.

I do not drink much then a single beer does good effect on me ^__^!.

Glad to see I am not the only folk thinking about it!

@ Guillaume >> yeah but I drunk more than one beer during the Unite  hahaha

From my own exeprience, during collage the toughest problems i always solved 2-3 beers in.
But it could also be that just being away from the computer that helped.

I’ll test this thoroughly to find out which was it!

I just don’t drink at all.

I also want to try coding with beer but bad luck in my State (in india) Alcohol is prohibited.

Drinking is prohibited?! What? Why?

So they can code faster and cheaper

Oh, you know maybe all the health issues it brings? Maybe that it causes the most harm to others(and self) of any drug.

I’m a hobbyist so i code only at home when i have time late at night. Sometime i tried to code after a restaurant. And i noticed that even with one beer or a little wine (France oblige) my skills droped down significantly.

Ahaha wonderful!!!

Yes its Against the rule. So many people get liquor illegaly, but you dont know its original or duplicate. If its duplicated then you will get side-effect for that (in rare cases).

Apparently, Adobe worked drunken for a lot of time - at least for what concerns Flash. Unity - sunsetting Flash

Tried sometimes to work while drunk, but it doesn’t work to me. I just lose interest very quickly, and get tired while trying to solve the simplest problems. Alcohol and computers do not match in my brain.

Time for a beer!
Cheers!

Back in the 90’s I co owned a small game studio and we did all our design work in the pub. I wasn’t a programmer back then so I can’t say I’ve ever tried programming and drinking, but for game design it worked really well
