different between unity 2017 & unity 5.6

i would much appreciate if someone can explain to me about the different between unity 5.6 and unity 2017 also i notice that some unity only have c# but went i look at youtube some use js

Read the release notes? What are you looking for?

JS is going to be deprecated soon (or maybe already is?).

so basically the different is just the patch and the patch release feature?

2017 is the next version. Instead of calling it Unity 6, they decided to go with years as other companies do, so it was called Unity 2017. The latest version is actually 2018.
