I can’t say anything about the support, but I am glad to have people on the forum who are very helpful and willing to share information… this morning I sent some bug reports about Interactive Cloth (Found out through a pro user that the lighting is bugged in Forward Rendering), and someone who uses Pro, helped me get down to the root of the issue. And, I am still buying a Pro licence as a self birthday gift. So far, Unity has helped me visualise how my games will look… and to top it off, the price is not bad. Sure, it is very hard to help 750k users at once, but lets have faith in this and I am sure they will fix the issues we encounter.
Workarounds are not always desired, but I always seek an alternate route to get to my goal…
Lets just say I have been asked to evaluate this engine, which involves coding within it quite a bit. If I said tomorrow, this just won’t work, we would stop using it. But I have experienced the potential of the system, and I think it is great and VERY close to what we need, its just hard when I hit a bug, documentation hole, or broken (unity provided) sample and there is just nothing that can be done. That’s when work arounds have to be developed which take time. So be it, you get what you pay for. This engine is a bargain for the price.
I will be looking into the paid support that was pointed out. Thx.
