GUI.Button not a member of 'GUI' --- Problems with GUI basic

So im trying to figure out how to make a simple GUI, iv watched some tutorials, searched the Scripting Guide and the forums. Now that im ready to start, i tried to paste in a piece of code from the tutorial:

function OnGUI () {
	if (GUI.Button (Rect (10,10,150,100), "I am a button")) {
		print ("You clicked the button!");
	}
}

I have this hooked up to the main camera, and all i get is an error that ‘Button’ is not a member of ‘GUI’. everything i try that involves GUI commands gives me the similar error. What am i missing?

You can’t call your script “GUI”.
