THANK YOU! Indeed I had set UNITY_IL2CPP_ANDROID_USE_LLD_LINKER=1 when debugging on Android and forgotten to remove it. Previous versions of Unity worked with it enabled, but it seems newer versions don’t support it. Thank you! AJ

When I turned on Script Debugging it started to seem like it was crashed but it just made the build take about 4x as long with the real stalls starting at this point. Eventually made it through tho.

I had this problem too So I tried to uninstall BitDefender and hope it will fix

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It’s been bugging me for a few weeks and turning off BitDefender appears to have resolved the issue.

I have seen all kinds of things in Unity but this takes the cake… Disabling antivirus actually worked…
