The official press for this is going out next week, but we put the IGF 2008 site live yesterday: http://www.igf.com/
The IGF is sometimes described as the Sundance Film Festival for games. It highlights the best indie, web, and student games every year. Finalists compete for nearly $50,000 in prizes, and the show gets a huge amount of press coverage. It’s a great way to get your stuff out there.
I’d really encourage anyone with polished Unity projects to submit them. There is a $95 entry fee for the main competition (although the separate student competition is free to enter). Unity web games are allowed in the web competition.
We’ve been finalists twice in previous years and really got a lot out of it. Steve and I are actually directing the show this year, so we’ve retired from entering the competition. If you guys have any questions about the IGF just let me know, I’d be glad to answer them.
Hope to see you all in the entries this year!
