Ok i have a ? If you are making a game thats going to be a mmorpg should the networking sys be setup first or can it be add after the scene s are made for the game ?
If you have no knowledge of networking then don’t even think about an MMORPG bro

well the only reson i asked is i been see that some ppl add the network sys after and some add it befor i just woundering wats the best way to start
well i have knowledge of networking sys but thats mainly for websites games are defrent then website servers
Much harder to add to an existing game, probably impossible for a newer developer unless it’s a very basic racing game.
No it’s much harder for games. … even harder for an MMORPG. There are master networkers that work on a MMORPG for years JUST doing the networking with a team of about 50 people. What makes you think that a one person team with no knowledge of game networking could pull off a project? You just cant. Don’t even start with networking if you have never even made a gamr
well i was looking at the networking packs that come’s on the asset store for free is wat made me start think of the net working sys but i am only 2 weeks in to detail on the scenes i havent really add any chars just test chars to see how the game has a feel to but i am self teaching my self every thing and done well i think so far yes i doing this on my own the others that wanted to do the game with me anit helped yet and more just want to do the videos to the game so been stuck with doing every thing so far wish i did have someone else helping that i could learn more from sense the game i trying to make has never been done and the name has never been used in a game nor has the story line most of wat i have learn came from those that put videos up on youtube that try to help teach ppl how to do things in unity i have took up the time to watch 90 % of every video that mite help even followed them step by step

well most of the game logic is executed on the server so learn basic of networking.

If you don’t already know the answer to this question, then you clearly don’t know even nearly enough about networking to even start making a MMO.
The reason as to why I say this is because making a MMO is more than just knowledge of how to code, it’s setting up a architecture and lots and lots of techniques that need to be implemented in order to get things rolling.
Take it from someone that has actually made a MMO, it’s not something that you can pull off easily without any prior knowledge, and especially if you can’t solve a issue as easy as this then you can’t even start to approach some of the harder problems you will certainly encounter when making something as massive as a MMO.

Come on guys, there’s no need for you to shut this guys dreams down just for asking this question.
Put yourself in his place when you began game development; how would you have liked it if some one had told you your project was impossible and that your dreams were unachievable?
Of course, this guy is taking a big, VERY BIG task, but it can be done. Eventually he’ll learn the task at hand is not as easy at it seems and he’ll learn from it… or give up. Just provide him with a decent answer, if not, don’t bother putting him on blast for asking a question.

If i had never learn a long time ago if u take every thing to hart you never get any where in life i know what i set my self up for and knew the anwser to what i was asking i just didnt want except it. i wont give up. i been working on the same project for all most 6 months just keep having to have to find the right sys to use at first but now i have blender and unity. i think i will be able to get it done it may take me longer sense i am only one person doing it but i am sure later down the line there will be more ppl joining me in this project i am doing. i refuse to give up or lose hope i got to much fate in what i can do when i put my mine to it…
Well, not going to sugar coat it, you have a very tough road ahead of you. Best wishes, I do recommend with starting off small though. We all have ambitions and dreams, at times those ambitions are much more than we can handle, take it easy.

I know this guy is bad at grammar but if he wasn’t then I imagine him to be in some swank loft apartment in new york city with his younger secretary guy that brings him coffee, but not star bucks coffee it has to be some kind of hipster coffee.
