When I try to login to the Asset Store using the Asset Store Tools login I get this error:
Error fetching metadata: Error receiving response from server (500): The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
UnityEngine.Debug:LogError(Object)
Ah I’m an idiot. All you need to do is to create the account first. Publisher account is separate from your normal account (even though it uses same login/password).
Greetings,
it is 2023 and the thread is now 6 years old. Still not fixed.
I get the exact same errormessage.
Clicking “Package Upload” leads me to signin-window.
After signin I get the errormessage mentioned abovein the Terminal. Error fetching metadata: Error receiving response from server (500): The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
But it is a serverside error. Dont they use any logging at all?
In addition it tells me that I need a Publisher Account. I already created one and if I click on “Create Publisher Account” it leads me to my already existing publisher-page.
But I guess this is just a follow-up-problem.
Running into this problem as well. Has been working fine for the last two years, last updated my asset in June.
Update: Looks like the issue is that I’ve been using Unity 2019 to upload my asset. Created a project in Unity 2022, installed the asset store tools, and it worked fine.
Judging by the new interface the tools had it looks like they’ve undergone a few changes and older versions are probably starting to be deprecated.
‘Added to Unity Assets’ and then found it available in my package manager. Choose Update, then import. The interface was very much new, much better now to be honest, and I was able to submit once again.
