can you post a webplayer of the church demo please

Thank you

Never mind … answer to question was in product description.

Looks really nice.

So much good work. PItty it was crippled to run on mobile. Not usable for PC game, quality too low :frowning: Making of universal assets is always compromise and not good idea at all.

Hi,

I am glad you guys like it.

I do not understand why you would think the asset is crippled in any way because of the way it was built.
I produce work with as low poly as possible with good looking textures to enable the art to run on as many platforms as possible and not reselling you the same asset over if you want it to be able to run on another platform like a few publishers do.

Wanting to have lots of eye candy as in monsters, and particle effects you don’;t want your game to be hogged down by the art that can be controlled better. Also, there are many people that want to build a game that is able to run on many platforms because and not having to rehack the art to work with another platform is a huge bonus for the production pipeline.

Hope you understand why the design choices was made as they were.

Running on all platforms does not mean to be suitable for all platforms. Once you are optimizing for mobile, it is only for mobile. It will indeed run on PC, but graphically it is 7 years obsolete. Low poly means no PC. To be PC suitable, you would need much more detailed meshes (for PC is no problem to render 2M polygons in frustum), high res textures, hand crafted normal and parallax maps, detail textures, advanced shaders…it is 2014 and PC games have now really high level of visual quality, I havent seen sharp edges of objects more than 8 years in PC game. Check interior quality of 3 years old Skyrim.

Game => must be low poly is no longer true. Actually it is not true for quite a long time. You ve created really beautiful pack for mobile. But not for PC.

Hi there,

I really appreciate the extensive reply and take it as constructive interaction opportunity

Many people associate low poly with being mobile, it is a term used to describe it but it is not true, polygons as such is not a problem for modern day mobile devices, memory for texture is a bigger problem.

That is why unlike some competing products that are several 100’s of mb in size I try to keep texture use to the highest optimized spec and the overall texture file size as small as possible with the selective clever atlassing.

What I mean was that someone might want to develop a game that can be accessed on his PC at home and from his tablet or phone from a mobile position and then don’t want to have all his art needing to be redone or so very different looking.

I also have a decent rig with lots of memory and good Gfx card and a SSD main drive, but to develop a game for many people you have to build it for the lowest possible spec and still having it good looking at the same time.

It is unfortunately not possible to cater for all the requirements for every person, I am a one man show and can produce only so much, and for the price that things sell, one has to look at where the current market growth and direction is going.
With Unity Tech themselves giving more and more access to the mobile platforms on the Free version, I think even there market research shows this is at the moment where the focus is in a large way.

I do appreciate the compliments and will keep trying to improve with each new asset pack that I develop, and maybe in future I might be able to have something that would cater for your liking and required look and feel.

Thanks
Cobus

Hi everyone.

The asset pack has received 3 superb written reviews with each also receiving a 5* rating,
with users expressing the gratitude with the first of it’s kind on the store.
The diversity and build options available are important highlights.

The first user requested FREE BONUS content is being worked on and would soon be available to package owners.

Blacksmith’s Forge
Alchemist Shop

That would mean two new texture sheets with each a bunch of models and prefabs using those sheets.

The asset pack is until the 1st May 2014 still on the early bird launch special,
so hurry if you want to benefit from the lower introduction price

Cheers
Cobus

Hey there,

Now 7 x 5* reviews and 2nd user requested BONUS FREE update delivered.

The next two BONUS FREE updates

  • Cathedral
  • Catacombs
are already in the works, with the modeling of the Cathedral components almost done.

I am growing the package to be the most complete solution if you have the need of any medieval interiors and also being completely modular in nature

All models I do I light-map ready with the built in Beast Engine.
