I am working on a game for a few years now, and itโs just me ( art ) and my husband , a programmer . I absolutely loved to make worlds and stories and characters and quests and I am really nervous for a soon-to-be-released early version of the game. This is the first village, Maple Hollow. The name is not final, I might change it. should i ?
In this game you will be able to farm and craft and trade and build your farm, but also, if you want a life of adventure, you can go on adventures.
I thought about making a simpler thing and just make a rabbit hole, and keep the game in the farming area, but i just couldnโt . I made so many scenes with beautiful scenery and I played with the way you get there , like by discovery or boat. But one could just stay home and build and trade if one pleases.
The game uses what I called " The Bilbo Arc" . This
is basically just a Dual-State Gameplay Loop.
Home โ Prepare โ Adventure โ Return โ Grow
The key idea isnโt just structure, but contrast:
players leave comfort, face uncertainty, then return stronger โ reinforcing emotional attachment to their home.
Over time, the game can break this pattern (e.g. invasions or second homes) to create impact and tension.
Please tell me what you think , if you want me to tell you more about it , if anyone has any opinions or advice, they are most welcomed! this is my first game, i made mobile games but nothing like this. this uses my art , from my packs and it s my design from top to bottom and i put a lot of time work and soul in it.
