2 questions about unity asset store (AI, purchased assets)

So I am an asset creator (Basic Inventory System for UI Toolkit | GUI Tools | Unity Asset Store) and I use free assets and give attribution in readme.
My questions are:

  • If I purchase an asset on the store like an rpg icons set, can I use some of them in a commercial asset?
  • If I purchase an asset and it says that the asset was created using AI (the icon set), do I have to tick the “created using AI” box when submitting another asset on the store?

Thanks!

No. According to the Asset Store license you cannot include any assets from the store in your own asset package. Doesn’t matter whether it’s “commercial” or not. The only exception is there are a few Unity-provided assets like the Unity Standard Assets or the Space Robot Kyle character. In those cases, the product description explains that they are offered under a special license that is different from the standard.

You’re simply not allowed to do this.

Are you a Unity rep?

No, I’m just some random guy who read the terms of service.

I reached out to an asset creator and he said I could use his free stuff as long as I credit him
