Any new/old-comers interested in this Settings menu?

I’m thinking of putting this on the Asset Store and was just trying to gauge any interest in it.

It is a working, drag and drop settings menu for Video/Graphics/Audio settings, as well as Gameplay settings which developers may configure.

The UI will be customisable to your own needs; the one offered is simply a working example which you may either use or modify.

When you apply your settings, they will take place immediately and will be saved to an INI file (common text file used to save game settings).

The game thus remembers your settings each time you boot it up.

In essence, it is a very lightweight game / graphics settings framework.

Please let me know:

  • Would this interest you? Do you want this?
  • Would you purchase it on the Asset Store? How much would it be worth to you?
  • Any specific features you’d like to see in it?

Cheers all, and happy game dev-ing

Just some more screenshots.

Seems pretty useful to me, saves the trouble of doing something that almost all pc games will have.

Isn’t anything similar on the asset store yet? I haven’t looked myself but I’d think this would fill a niche and be useful for people. Support for navigating with keyboard or controller would be a nice addition if you don’t have that integrated already. Otherwise it seems like a good idea if it is easy enough to customize (adding and removing single settings, tabs, reskin the whole thing, integrate it with a localization solution etc.). An FOV slider seems to be missing.

Yep, it works out of the box with keyboard and controllers (as well as mouse and touch!). Localisation would be good to have, maybe in an update. My game isn’t a first person one, but a FOV slider is the easiest thing to do

Thanks for the responses!

I’d be interested for sure. UI is something I tend to not want to put a lot into, but I also understand how important it is to have a good one.

A full featured plugin would be valuable, but if it’s too pricy it might scare people off. If you could think of a way to do a free, basic version with only a couple (but still useful) features, then charge for the full “Pro” version, I think you could charge around $50? Without a way to try it first, I’d be hesitant to buy if it was over $20, I think, but that’s really just my opinion.

In any case, it does look great and would be a great tool to help build a projects settings out quickly and easily.

You have my moral support  but as I don’t have money no financial support.
As someone learning this buissnes this seems like challenge for me not asset for my projects, also it looks quite easy to make but it is time consuming.
Someone that is focused on creating project not learning, this is really good thing.
Just make sure it is easy to setup for customer.
