Asset store: Misleading review deletes and reposts to get rid of downvotes

I have seen these issues, as well. I do feel sorry for some of the Asset sellers. Although I am sure there are those who deserve low ratings, I have seen many times where their bad ratings were based on their own code, their lack of reading or understanding the documentation, not seeking help from the author (or giving up too soon) or rating it bad because the latest beta version of Unity created some incompatibilities - or even that the author didn’t customize the asset explicitly for their needs. Often times when the author fixes the issue, responds with a please to assist them, etc. the user who left the review rarely returns to update it or even contact the author.

I have seen authors get bad reviews because they didn´t include a demo scene for an asset that is only a handful of models. Then I have seen authors get a bad review because they included a demo scene and the buyer overwrote ( and did not save) their own project. I have seen artists get bad reviews because the buyer didn´t know how to use mecanim.

And on the other hand ( and I am dealing with this today)… I have seen artists get rave reviews for their asset packs because of their screenshots with image effects, meanwhile the actual pack is a nightmare and mostly worthless because the artists has scaling wrong, uses 50 materials on an item that only should have 1. etc etc.

To the OP, you are probably not helping your case, more than likely the person who is messing with you is watching this thread and getting some enjoyment out of your angst… nothing a troll loves more than attention to their trolling.

They won’t delete it; the best thing you can do is to leave a reasonable response, which I see you’ve already done.
