Blurry Unity

I just recently upgraded to windows 10 and ever since then my unity looks blurry and I am unable to use Visual Studios instead of MonoDevelop. I have uninstalled Unity and re-installed it but still the same problem. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they fixed it.

My migration to Windows 10 involved a complete wipe of the system, so this may have had some impact but I have had no trouble with Unity or Visual Studio. You may have to re-install the asset that allows communication between Unity and Visual Studio. Or you may have to re-install Unity, Visual Studio, and the asset.

What have you got the dpi settings set to?
Have you checked your graphics driver is up to date?
Post some screenshots. I haven’t downgraded  to Windows 10 yet so I don’t know what to expect.

I still have the icon on my toolbar that says “we will inform you when the update is ready.”

You should try doing color and ClearType calibration. My calibration was reset when I updated to Win 10

Are there black borders on the edge of your screen? Are you using Native resolution?

You see, your Windows is a little bit dirty. Either do a clean install, get back to 7 or what you had before or get a better OS.

Funny site. Forget about drivers, they say. I’ve had driver hell in Linux. You have to be very careful to buy hardware that can support Linux or it can become quite nasty.

I could very easily rant about some of the other ones mentioned as well. That site is very out of date.

Ha, that’s kind of funny. It’s easier for me to read all the text in this picture than it is when I have unity open. I’ve uninstalled Unity and re-installed it several times. It’s honestly not that big of a deal, just a little annoying (especially since my eyesight isn’t the best).

Yea, that picture makes me seem like I’m bs’ing my problem. The picture is 10x more clear than when I’m actually using Unity. Maybe I should take some screenshots anytime I can’t read something then.

Not necessarily… if you’re using an Intel GPU, try setting the quality slider to “quality” instead of in-between or performance, like this:

if it’s the intel card misbehaving, that should fix it.

Appreciate the assistance, but it didn’t seem to change anything. It’s not the worst thing that could have happened, so at least I got that going for me. I’m only using Unity for now until I am able to build my own engine, so I can grin and bear a little blurriness.

I’m actually building my own engine when I get time to work on it, although in my case, it’s just for the heck of programming something cool in OpenGL… I also have a primitive physics engine running in mine. (Well, not quite… I did the test-run in C# using Unity to begin with, and I am in the process of porting the thing to C++ and integrating it)

EDIT: Actually, if I look closely at the screen again… I actually can see a bit of bluriness, but only a little bit… have you tried calibrating ClearType? That may fix the issue as well!

At this point I’ve tried everything suggested. I’m still learning about computers and programming (I’ve only been working with C++ and C# for a couple months now). I’m learning it all through Full Sail (that I’ve been attending for a year now), it is the first time I’ve ever learned anything about computers other than “here’s a computer modem and here’s a computer screen” (I grew up in an extremely rural community, you were considered among the lucky few if you had dial-up, all the way up till until 2-3 years ago). Our most advanced technological class was learning how to type an essay in word. So yea, I am an beginner/amateur at best. It just hasn’t clicked for me yet.

That’s alright, if you need any sort of instructions, I can give them. Good luck in your studies!

Right click on Unity.exe, press properties, go to compatibility and at the bottom you will see four checkbox, press the third one, and run again

That’s a good tip, it makes everything sharp but tinny tiny
