Can't install Unity. "Not enough free space".

I believe Unity Hub temporarily downloads install files into a temporary file directory located on the primary hard drive (this is my thinking due to the way the offline installer works when you specify an install directory)

Solution
Download the installer .exe file (Unity Assistant) from the “Latest Release” section of the Unity website.
(Found this out through the docs here: Unity - Manual: Install Unity offline without the Hub)

Installer download location:

I installed the latest version with a “LTS” tag beside them using Unity Hub and it worked installing the editors and etc.

And when will they fix this stupid bug? Some of us pay for Unity3D and come across such bugs!

I found a solution in Apple’s developer forum. This looks like an OSX secret. You will see a lot of free space in the Finder and in reality the Finder shows the total of free space and erasable space. You can fix this by creating a large file with the terminal. Wait for the file to be created and then delete it. My Finder has shown 49 GB of free space. So I created a 45 GB dummy file.

mkfile 45G ~/big_dummy
rm big_dummy

I have tried over and over to install it it shows I have enough free space but wont download any way
I put in screenshots

Worked for me on ubuntu. I cleared some space on the main distribution.

I had the same problem and I couldn’t solve but I eventually did. You open Unity Hub, at which point you go to that settings gear near your profile picture and you change the location of the Unity Editors Folder to D:, then you press the arrow pointing upwards on the right of the windows bar (it’s near the sound and battery level if you have a laptop) and you close the application by right-clicking it and pressing “Quit Unity Hub”. Afterwards, you open Unity Hub again and you install the Unity Editor you want. It’s as easy as that (for me at least)

I use the arch linux ,and also had the same problem.
I found that UnityHub.AppImage use /tmp for cache the download files, names “unityhub-9725dab0-933d-11ea-afdb-8bbfcaad6e8f” “Unity-hubIPCService.sock”,when i close the UnityHub.AppImage, these temp files will not been deleted.
Then I delete these files, It works well.

Seems to work after making space on my main drive

Starting UnityHub 2.3.2 with TMPDIR=<path to enough space> ./UnitHub.AppImage worked for me.

It sounds silly, but seems in Mac Unity hub check disk space only after a “successful” installation. So if your space is enough but not showing in hub, just run a “small” install in hub (e.g. Editor without module) then your space will be “back” in hub.

Well I have almost 2TB free space and it is giving me the same message

For anyone still having this issue in 2020. This is probably due to the fact that your main drive with your TEMP folder doesnt have enough space. To fix this you can change the location of your TEMP folder temporarily to install the Unity version you are wanting.

To do this follow the steps shown here: https://www.howtogeek.com/285710/how-to-move-windows-temporary-folders-to-another-drive/

Change the TEMP system variable to be set to the location in a folder on the drive that has the most space.
After you have changed the TEMP location restart your computer and try to install the version of Unity you want.
After this is done make sure to revert the changes done to your system variables.

If you are using an SSD, and is installing Unity on a different hard drive, it is probably because your SSD does not have enough free space to download the temporary files. While downloading Unity, temporary files are created in your C:/ drive, and you need at least about 3gb of free space for the temp files. Free up some space and you should be good, it worked for me
