Chris Milk's The Treachery of Sanctuary

Hi…

I just finished working on my first finished Unity project, an installation at the Creators Project event in San Francisco this weekend! Here is a video that someone uploaded to YouTube:

There are three panels. In the first, your silhouette dissolves into birds. In the second, birds swoop down and attack you, taking away pieces of your silhouette. In the third, you get your wings.

Brian Chasalow, who I’m sure is on this forum somewhere, wrote a Unity plugin that shares texture memory and skeletal information with an OpenFrameworks application that uses Microsoft’s Kinect SDK. Lots of fun working on this and looking forward to using Unity more.

When the official documentation is ready, I’ll be sure to post it here!

its awesome to see projects like this made with unity! i cant wait to see the documentation

Wow that is amazing, great work, wish I could see it in person, my kids would love it.

Well done.

Hey aaron! brian chasalow here. funtimes in san fran. i thought this was a pretty good video too:

I love it! It’s really great.
Maybe… make a game out of that second example(birds eating away your silhouette)? Player could be a scarecrow, that would be unique haha.

Hey aaron,
I drew inspiration from this project and have been working to replicate this ever since as a personal project (only the man with wings part). I am stuck at a certain point. I used open frameworks to generate a silhouette using kinect v2, applied some image processing operations to make the silhouette smooth and sent the texture frames from OF to unity using a plugin called spout (previously called syphon)

My problem is, i need to send skeleton data too from open frameworks so i could attach the wings. But i cant seem to find a good way to do it. I’ve kept using OSC as a backup plan because i read an interview where chris milk said OSC was slow so they used a plugin that allowed low level memory sharing ( which is basically the same as spout, but spout only shares textures).

Yes … people live … Travel to other countries are planning. He would not have refused to go on a trip, even around the world. It is a pity that the issue is not in money, but in free time. Well, nothing, these https://escortsitekualalumpur.com the little ones too are not bad so help to relax and relieve tension…
