completely lost!

I am starting with a trial version and I am completely lost. I can’t see the view switcher and the entire scene window is white with a camera in the middle. I can create objects but I lost the 3d perspective view. Any help? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

In you editor, check the layout option, at the upper right corner, and choose 4 split. You will have a “classic” setting for Unity and will see 3 perspective view plus the render game window.

For the white screen, I don’t know maybe it’s the background color set on your camera…

Cheers,
Romain.

Hello,

If you use Windows 7 x64 them forget Unity. I also tried several things and nothing seems to work… to many bugs… the thing it that my friend also have windows 7 x64 with a nvidia and its all cool. I have a radeon 4870 and even with the latest driver still can’t do nothing…

I now use my old laptop with Windows XP but the 14’ screen its not cool…

Many Many thanks!!

If you accidentally close one of the windows, or move it and can’t get it to stick back the way it was before, then click the Windows tab, and then layout, and select Revert Factory Settings.

If you are playing around with it, you’ll probably have that problem as well, so mentioning it ahead of time. Once you pull something loose, no way to get it back again, without choosing that option.

Unity works fine on my windows 7 x64.

In 3ds max I was accustomed to seeing the Perspective view grid extend. In Unity I lost it completely and even going back to factory defaults I still can’t see. Where is it?
