Deformable terrain in real-time?

Hi everyone

First of all I have to say that as a new user i’m totally over-impressed by Unity. It’s just awesome (and incredibly fun) to develop games in.

Right now i’m just playing around with it and have created a simple FPS that let the user shoot exploadable cannonballs at a terrain :stuck_out_tongue:

What I want to do now is make craters in the terrain upon impact. Is this possible? If so, can anyone point in the right direction? I have a javascript that creates the explosion on the terrain (so I have the point of impact and all that), but I need to find a way to manipulate the terrain in that point.

Thanks in advance for any input

Best regards,
Thomas

Nearly everything is possible…the only question is “how difficult”. In this case, not very.
