Do you think we are a simulation?

Have you ever wondered if real life worked like a video game?

What’s your take on reality?
I mean you think about it, something that happens 2000 miles away, is it like a networked video game using Interest Management and the last LOD Level (Culled) on my client.

I know this idea sounds weird, but if you really look at the real world. all the trees we see, if we get further away from them we get a blur of the detail (Depth of field). Now is the depth of field masking and blending the proper LOD’s as we get closer to them? Because obviously if we are E.G. - 1000 meters away from a tree it just looks bland, can’t see the bark normal’s and beautiful height-maps, etc without changing the FOV (Field of View (Binoculars, scopes, etc).

Or Grass, when you are in a airplane, it just looks like a bunch of green smudge. Is this an LOD right before culling the grass, or is it a crappy color-map for a terrain lol.

I mean it’s just crazy. We all know we exist, but we can’t see each other, but just like in a video game online, the actions of users may not be noticed by all, until the proper RPC is sent when it is in the interest area.
And sense it’s easier to send a message of text, we therefore get the newspapers, etc.

I’d like to know how you perceive this.
I’d like to know your opinion of this, I think this can be quite an interesting subject

The rest of you are the simulation, I’m just running it.

Before such a discussion can take place, you have to decide whether you want the red or the blue pill!

Hahahahahahahaha. I want the one Neo had :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes. It is all in the time-ing.

Maybe the Matrix was made by the system to make you think you wanted that pill when really the other pill is the answer. Or maybe jumping through the wall is. Maybe not. HMMM?

Lmao that is true haha

Whatever you smoke: I want it, too!

DNA is a 25,000 character alphabet and is the language of the code of the simulation.

more…mind over matter…

We’re simulations running within biologically-based computers which are themselves being simulated by a massive cellular automaton which is likewise simulated by quantum physics. What is simulating the quantum physics is beyond me.

Adding onto the simulation idea, if we perceive a tree to be in front of us and we run into it, we would get hurt and hit the tree. What if we reprogrammed our brain for the tree not to be there, and its just a “simulated” tree in all our brains this entire time!

We all see colours differently, the way I see red is not the same way as you see it. This could also add onto the simulation idea…

It’s more of a suggestion.

Quantum physics would suggest something like this.

Quantum states, plank’s constant, quantum tunnelling, the uncertainty principle and the like all seem to indicate some fundamental lack of precision in the universe. Something very similar to the floating point precision issues we see inside Unity.

The observer effect, wave-particle duality, quantum tangling and the like suggests that the universe delays calculation until the last possible moment. It also suggests that there is some optimisation going on at the particle level. Particles that do not interact appear to operate differently from particles that do interact.

Of course treating this universe as a simulation requires a larger universe to be simulated in. Along with a ton of supporting systems for that universe. And then you have to ask what that universe is being simulated in.

On some of the later night discussions with some of my engineering colleagues we took this idea one step further. What if the simulation was constantly being patched? What if the reason Aristotle thought the universe was made of four fundamental fluids was because it was? Perhaps the prevailing attitude that an object required a force to keep moving was correct before the Newtonian physics patch. Perhaps the sun and planets were once a set of overlapping spheres around the earth.

You took a lot of words to say it, but what you meant to say is, “yes, the universe could be like a video game”.

Hah I love all the responses!

Glad I’m not the only one to think it could be a possibility.
Everytime I leave the house I think of things like this. Like the whole what-if.
Yeah I am religious and all, but I still have a what-if lol.

Something doesn’t come from nothing, even science even states that. So something had to create the something we have now.

But then that leads to what created the something that created the something lol.

“Oh, crap! The wrong species evolved! Quick someone patch in the Plan B asteroid collision!”

Forget LOD. Your brain takes for granted most of the information it receives, fill the gaps with assumptions.

Many people can’t draw the front door of their house with detail, even though they see it every day.

“Being there” is just an overall notion, but our mind can only focus so much, it’s much more what we ignore, and we don’t even know it.

Interesting hahaah. I totally didn’t. I mean if it was wearing pink or blue I would have noticed it, but it blended in with the black shirt team lol.

@N1warhead_1 : There is one involving a gorilla that is much more easily noticed.

Nope, I don’t think we are simulation, but a reality.
Simulation only happens in movies and games.

Although our body is no more then like a physical object , you could call it pc in this case, and whatever happens inside is due to programming, which most of us call soul.
