What we have right now, is that Asset Store team immediately publishes an update to the store as gets approved without a warning.
Instead, imagine, being notified when an asset gets approved so you could choose when to post it or perhaps event schedule so publishers could post their draft posts and videos along with the update!
Don’t get me wrong, Asset Store team is doing a great job at reviewing assets and they return with a feedback pretty fast! But I believe we need a solid system which could allow publishers to coordinate their updates.

Not sure if you’re aware, but a select few publishers (we are one) don’t actually have to go through the review process for updates. Just click “publish” and wait about 20 minutes - then it’s live! I’m not sure how we initially got brought into this elite group, but it’s very very convenient and helps with what you’re wanting. i.e. no need to schedule an update if you can just go click publish whenever you like and wait 20 minutes.
Perhaps you should ask the Asset Store folks what are the qualifications to get into that group?
But yeah it would be good to be able to do like iTunes publishing and choose whether things are immediately published after approved or if you can have control over the “magic shiny publish button” after it’s approved.

That could be because you’re a kickass publisher with lots of awesome assets with a good reputation! 
Long review process for smaller publishers is understandable, but flexibility to push updates should be available to everyone.
