[Free] [Android] [IOS] Welcome Nukonians !

Welcome Dear Nukonians

I love to present you my very first creation of a Game made with Unity. As this is actually my 2nd Game, it is the first dedicated to humans to play(Sounds weird, I know) . The 1st one was dedicated for Cats (Since I own 2 of these Mini Tigers) but has also been made with Unity, and acted more as a Unity Introduction.

The Project has been developed with Unity 5.2.3 and various Assets from the Unity Asset Store helped, shaping the Final outcome of the Game.

Like every Project it had it’s up and down’s, and I faced several issues with In-App Purchases to get them working properly, that had my Project delayed by a good month.

My Programming Skills are also my biggest Problem and caused many Issues and Question Marks. I am also by no means a Master Art Creator or Programming Master, so pulling this Game out required a lot of Motivation and Energie, to which I saw several Times lost.

However it is now done and has already been published on the Google Play Store for you to download (For Free of course), and let me know what you think about it . The IOS Version is awaiting approval and should follow within the next Couple of Days. A Windows Phone & Amazon Version is currently not planned.
I will inform as soon as the IOS Version has been released as well.

There are a total of 16 Levels to master, while it sounds easy, it get’s harder after a few levels.

The Game Features:

  • Unique behaving Spacecraft
  • Easy to learn, Easy to Control
  • Special Sound Effects like Turbo Boost, Crashes
  • Several InGame Challenges for each Level
  • Share your Experience with your Friends or the World!
  • Replay Function
  • Colorful and smooth graphics
  • Special Effects to add more dynamic to the Game
  • High Resolution Textures
  • Looks good on any Phone or Tablet

Other than the ads thing I mentioned to you on twitter ( you don’t want to annoy people with too many ads ), here are some things regarding gameplay:

  • You could make the initial few levels a bit easier by removing most obstacles. The controls are challenging enough at the beginning without having obstacles in the way, or so near to the orbs.
  • In the same way, it could be good to make the unlock requirements for the first few levels ( 5? ) easier.
  • When you finish a level, it would be great to have a “continue” button to move on to the next level.
  • The orange orb you collect makes you go faster for a while. This isn’t necessarily a good thing as it could crash you into an obstacle easily.

In terms of graphics, they look good and fitting. I didn’t get to higher levels, so I don’t know if the landscape changes. Maybe you could have a snow them in some of the levels, and a desert also.

Just a few thoughts.

Just downloaded the game. And played through the first level, and will continue when I have more time.
Intitial thoughts:

I like your control scheme. It takes a bit of practice as any game does, but to me, it feels intuitive, creative, and effective.

I think the graphics are quite pleasant, and especially the details, like the birds in the trees.

I think the first level should be tutorial based, because I missed the explanation on the title page and for about ten seconds there on the first level I was just waiting for something to tell me what to do, before I realized the game was waiting for ME. Just a quick tutorial indicating how to move (ie. tap to move forward, hold tap to loop ) and that it’s ok to go through trees, but NOT to try to go through Mountains which one might think are part of the background like the trees are (…who, me?).

I also didn’t feel very IMMERSED in the game, and I think that is because the ship/player is so small, and the scene is so large. I would love to see everything a bit more zoomed in so that it feels faster, more engaging, and more reactive. Right now the game is pretty, but it has a somewhat passive tone to the game.

Lastly, I think the UI in place here is certainly better than the standard Unity UI Defaults, but it still looks too generic. Make the UI custom to you and your game! A good example of this being done is with the game, Give It Up! by Invictus Studios.

Great first (real) game, and an especially fitting and well-put-together post!

Hey Puppeteer,

Sorry for the late reply, but on Wednesday it hit me hard with Influenza (Flu) Virus and I have been K.O since then. It will take another couple of days to fully recover from the Flu.

The first thing I will modify is of course the amount of ads being shown. And then later see, what parts (Obstacles) I could take away, or maybe even turn the first level into a tutorial level.

The Unlock Requirements is something I had in the back of my mind as well for some time now and I already changed some Settings to see how easy or how hard it is to reach it and then see to include a “Continue” Button after completing one Level in the same time too.

The Orange Orb is something that can either help you are not. Since I played a lot with it, once you master the flight controls, it will help you, but later on, I will give you the decision if you wanna risk it or just avoid it. You don’t loose anything if you ignore the orange orbs. I do however have some plans for the Orange Orb.

The Graphics will change but some graphics will remain to keep the atmosphere. In the description I mentioned that you play through Spring. So I picked some “Golden” Moments from Spring and put them into the Game. I had a lot more ideas but my Goal is, not to clutter the Player with too many Graphics at once on the Screen. There will be some Graphic Elements later on which you have not seen yet.

The most important thing for me is, that I wanna thank you for trying the game out and giving me such a positive, important and constructive feedback. It proves me that I am going the right direction

Kind Regards

Hey seanmoebeal,

Thank you very much as well for taking your time in downloading and trying out the game, plus finding Time to give me also such a positive and constructive Feedback.

I had also the Idea of turning the first level into a tutorial level to begin with but since my “Beta” testers said it feels good and they just need to practice, I let it be. But still considering this of course.
Trees will also be kept in the background and are not interacted with. Mountains however or “Obstacles” and need to be avoided, however, this could change in some levels.
So yes a Tutorial based level is a possibility.

The Scale of the Ship/Player does vary of course and the game does adjust to the screen size and resolution. Since I had no device that rendered the ship very small, I will look into it. Could you tell me on what Device you play it on?

Tbh I did try some custom UI, but my knowledge there reached it’s limit as I could not accomplish to what I initally wanted to create.

And once again thanks for taking your time and downloading the game. I am glad you like my initial post and the game as such. I will improve it, so my next Projects will benefit from my experience.

Kind Regards
NeverCon

Good Morning, Good Evening or Good Afternoon, Dear Pilots!

How are you on this beautiful Sunday ? Guess what? I got some news for ya’all

First things first, I have fully recovered from my Flu and I am back in the Cockpit, yippiee!

The rather more important news for everyone is, I have submitted an update for the Google Version and it will be available shortly.

Now this ain’t a Major Update but I have done the following for you in a Nutshell:

  • Made some minor UI Changes (cosmetic)
  • Changed the Camera View, for a more immersed Feeling (Tell me how you now feel about it)
  • Eased up the first few Levels, for reaching the next levels. Meaning, I have reduced the amount of planets needed, to progress.

Plus some further changes, which do not affect the gameplay, but are rather cosmetic.

Now what has not changed, is the actual Level Design. I am working currently on some tweaks and changes, which also will find it’s way to the IOS Version.

For all you iOS Players, I am still waiting for Apple. The Game is now for some time in the Review Phase, and I hope it will go live in the next couple of days. I will of course keep you guys updated.

Considering the amount of Views this Thread has so far has generated, and comparing it with the Downloads from Google Play, my guess is that most viewers own rather an iPhone or iPad then a Android Powered Device.

Enjoy your last day of the Weekend, and hopefully you also enjoy the latest Build from my Game which will be available shortly.

Kind Regards
NeverCon

Hey Guys

Please Keep in mind though that this Version is “outdated”. The Changes I did for the Android Version last week, are not included on the iOS Version due to the “In Review” Status.

The Updated Version will hopefully soon be on the Apple App Store as well.

Enjoy the Game now on iOS

Kind Regards
