Make a boring game and people will be bored with it regardless of whether or not it’s a “futuristic game”. Make a fun game and people will play it regardless of whether or not it’s a “futuristic game”.

It takes more than vague theme to justify playing a game. Why is this even a question?

This page seems to indicate that games with a futuristic theme are unpopular and will not sell well.

oddly enough, futuristic games have a tendency to be unpopular.
In saying that, star wars battle front is pretty cool.
So maybe now, the world is ready for futuristic games.
Just remember, if you want it to look futuristic, just add lots of lens flare and bloom.

A Futuristic Racing game, like F Zero or Wipe Out or Fast Racing Neo?
A Futuristic RPG?
A First Person Adventure Shooter, like Metroid Prime on Gamecube?
